Designed to Inspire
The House of Justice complex consists of eight Courtrooms, eight Judges Chambers, a main circulation lobby, Registrar and Deputy registrar’s offices, Library, interpreters and Support offices, conference rooms basement parking and support infrastructure. In the evolution of the design, the client called for symbolism and the feel of grandiose.
The spatial layout of the facility was abstract from the shield, which was a symbol of protection in the early ages of which the courts are envisaged to enforce in the modern age. A grand entrance was achieved by the introduction of a triple volume entrance foyer as well as a monumental fountain at the forecourt. The building structure is mainly composed of reinforced concrete a react to the client’s need for security.
